Paul Gleason has worked as an employment law attorney since receiving his law license in 1991. Mr. Gleason represents plaintiffs and defendants in employment related disputes involving all forms of discrimination (physical and mental disability, gender, sex, sexual orientation, age, race, pregnancy, and national origin), harassment, sexual harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, wage theft, wage and hour violations, and claims under California’s Private Attorney General Act (“PAGA”). Mr. Gleason is an experienced trial attorney and member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (“ABOTA”). Mr. Gleason routinely represents clients in state and federal court and has served as lead counsel in numerous jury trials on behalf of employers and employees. Before co-founding Gleason & Favarote, LLP, Mr. Gleason practiced at several large law firms including Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison, LLP, where he became a partner in 1988. Mr. Gleason was also a founding shareholder of the Los Angeles office of Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart, LLC. Mr. Gleason received his law degree in 1991 from Loyola Law School and his undergraduate degree from California State University, Long Beach.

Paul M. Gleason has been an employment and labor law attorney for the past 17 years. Throughout his career, Paul has defended and continues to defend employers in litigation filed in state and federal court in cases involving the full gamut of employment law issues, including sexual harassment, discrimination, retaliation, wage and hour violations, disability discrimination, whistle-blower claims, and issues arising under the Family and Medical Leave Act and the California Family Rights Act. Paul also defends employers in complex litigation such as wage and hour class actions, representative actions, multiple-plaintiff litigation and trade secret/non-compete disputes, and advises senior management on complex labor and employment law issues. Additionally, Paul assists clients with union avoidance issues, collective bargaining, arbitrations, and in proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board. Paul also counsels employers on day-to-day labor and employment law issues. Paul has extensive litigation experience and he has defended employers in jury trials in state and federal courts. Paul’s most recent jury trial resulted in a 12-0 defense verdict in favor of his client in a sexual harassment case. Paul is also experienced in representing clients before state and federal administrative agencies and in private arbitrations and mediations in cases involving the full range of labor and employment law matters. Paul represents clients from a wide variety of industries, including health care, corrections, financial services, manufacturing, transportation, hospitality and retail. His clients include well-known publicly-traded corporations and privately-held businesses.

Professional Background

Paul has practiced in the area of labor and employment law since graduating from Loyola Law School of Los Angeles in 1991. He began his career at Pettit & Martin and moved to Brobeck, Pheleger & Harrison, LLP in 1994, where he became a Partner in 1998. Paul left Brobeck following its dissolution in 2003 and joined Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart, LLC, where he was the founding Shareholder of that firm’s Los Angeles office. Paul left Ogletree Deakins in 2006 to co-found Gleason & Favarote, LLP. Prior to becoming an attorney, Paul was a Staff Representative for the National Electrical Contractors Association, Los Angeles County Chapter.
